What keeps Nancy coming back to poppies is their double life: stems that are tall and slim, petals as thin as tissue paper, and a spirit that won’t be knocked down.

This posy brings crimson, pink and orange poppies together in layered tones against deep blue. The white foreground gives them room to breathe and shows off the gentle shadows and a fallen petal. It’s a lovely size for a bedroom wall or the gap beside the bookshelves.

Frame: White wooden double St Ives frame. The ‘St Ives’ style double frame is hand made in Cornwall without glazing so the textural qualities may be fully appreciated. The painting has been triple varnished to protect it from UV rays and dust.
