Born and raised in the vibrant cities of India, Shveta Maini grew up in a swirl of cultures, languages, and stories. Art didn’t seem like a “real” career - it was more daydream than destiny. But talent has a funny way of rewriting the rules.
With a background in surface textiles and a degree from the London College of Fashion, Shveta developed a sharp eye for texture and colour. In 2020, she swapped the structured world of textile design for the wild beauty of full-time abstract painting - and hasn’t looked back.
Now working from her Hertfordshire studio, Shveta creates rich, emotive pieces that live in the “in-between”—where silence buzzes and chaos feels oddly comforting. Inspired by nature and memory, her process is all about layering: colour, texture, and feeling.
Her work is a bridge between past and present, inviting you to pause, get a little lost, and maybe even find yourself in the abstract.
