Say hello to Louise Nordh — Swedish-born, London-based, artist, mum, and someone who’s been doodling pretty much forever.
She spent ten years working in graphic design before deciding to go all-in on painting after winning The Other Art Fair’s New Futures prize in 2022. It was one of those life-changing moments… and honestly, her art has only gotten more magical since.
Louise’s work is all about emotion — the messy bits, the tender bits, the bits you can’t quite put into words. Her characters (often women, often dreamy and deep in thought) sit in these beautifully layered, imaginative scenes that somehow feel both personal and universal. You look at them and think, “Yep, that could be me.”
She starts with sketches, experiments with colour on her iPad, and then builds the final piece with acrylics, gouache, and the tiniest brushes you’ve ever seen — some of them are literally nail-art brushes. The result? Soft, bold, intricate, and full of feeling.
Louise doesn’t like to over-explain her work; she leaves space for you to find your own meaning. Her pieces have this lovely way of making you think, or remember, or just breathe out a little.
Welcome to Louise’s world — we think you’ll love it here.
